I have touched on this topic in the past, and due to current events felt the need to revisit it.
In the year 2011 I have come across many situations that have made me ask the question, "where are all the real women?"
In a time downtrodden with the insurgence of reality television. The images of Real Women doing Real things are few and far in between.
It seems as society has embraced the images of women fighting and gossiping and crabbing* each other as the norm.
But did I miss the memo or something? I wasn't aware that this was the way to carry yourself as a woman, a mother, a sista, a friend...ect.
Since when did it become ok to not be happy with yourself so you drag down every and anyone around you?
Quoting Basketball Wives, Love & Hip Hop, and Nicki Minaj like its sacred grail.
Catchy one liners for tee shirts is not what life should be made of.
There was a time when a Woman could compliment another Woman not knowing her personally, but just out of respect for her. And this was normal. But in this day and age something like this is foreign and odd.
My how times have changed.
There used to be a real sisterhood among women regardless of age or color.
But it seems as if everything has become a competition. Even among families it has been lost.
We all have our crosses to bear and our pathes to walk, to reach our divine destiny, but in doing so along your journey, why is it necessary to bring another down instead of giving a hand to bring one up!
What happen to being happy for another's success, instead of giving the stomach virus face and finding something negative to say in reference to what is being done.
It is a sad time we live in when it can be said that these things are the normal.
I'm sorry for anyone who may get offended by what I'm saying but this is my blog infused with my opinion and we can always agree to disagree. :)
If your a woman with children over the age of 30, there is no excuse for you to be in a clique of any kind! Having your longstanding good girlfriends is one thing but a clique seriously? Act
Your age ladies really! We are no longer in high school.
If your a woman over the Age of 30 with children, you should have some type of sense of self, yes there are many things that happen in life that make us question ourselves, but your identity should not be tied to another person, who are You? If you can't answer that something is wrong!
If your a woman over 30 with children, you should have the ability to be happy for someone and not have it benefit you. My growth and progress have no bearing on you and yours have no bearing on me, but I can honestly say I am happy for anyone who is finding their way in this maze we call life and is moving forward positively. Is that something you can say? If it isn't hmmmmm.
When it's all said and done don't let more be said then done! It's way too many people talking and not enough doing.
Real is in the actions.
Being Real, and being a follower of Reality Television are two different things.
Real Women do Real Things!Lead by example, the youth of today are watching, and what exactly are you showing them? That you can quote Evelyn from Basket Ball Wives or you memorized Nickis latest song.
With that I want to say Thank You! Thank You to the real women who still exist, and carry themselves with dignity and Grace. Don't be discouraged because we are few in numbers Real Recognize Real! They just mad cause their unfamiliar! Stay Blessed Ladies
ByTheWay.... I'm not saying don't watch reality television it's a free country do you. But you are what you eat? What are you feeding your mind and your spirit? Imjusayin
