Sheesh.....my brain is on overload as I sit here trying to figure out exactly where to begin....
Well here goes.
Please note this is my opinion based on my experience, i don't claim to be an expert, i just call it how I see it. And if anything I say here happens to offend you, I'm cool with that. Because being uncomfortable (offended) plants the seed that may just reap change.
Lets Begin
Ladies, Ladies,Ladies......smh we really need to do better across the board.
It saddens me the things Ive been seeing in most recent days.
I will start with what grinds my gears the most.
Woman of Color.....what are you teaching your daughters about beauty?
Too often we are continuing to perpetuate the stereotypes that have been forced upon us from an oppressive society.
When talking to these young woman and men too, are you fortifying their spirit with seeds of pride for themselves, and for their uniqueness?
Magazines do not showcase what we see when we walk out our doors to go about our day.
People of color come in ALL shades and none is more beautiful than the other.
Hair comes in All Textures and Lengths. And quiet as its kept for the right $ you can practically buy any hair you want.
But know that Light isn't Right, and Long Hair doesn't make you beautiful!
There are many light skin long haired people who aren't all that attractive.
With that being said let your babies know that their Black is Beautiful regardless of who says otherwise.
Next on the chopping block are we still quoting reality television????
I've spoken on this quite a bit and it just really aggravates my nerves because it has come to a point that people cant even have a semi intelligent conversation without some catch phrase attached.
"You Ain't Bout That Life" you have got to be kidding me!
in order to be about a life you need to have one! Simply put. and quoting this nonsense ain't it!
This generation has very few to look at as examples of what a woman with Grace and Pride looks like. And the fact that the woman out here are picking up the nonsense and incorporating it into real life doesn't help it.
Leave the catch phrases for those who are getting paid to say them.
Cause last i checked Evelyn isn't about to help you pay not 1 bill.
You know what your absolutely right, I'm not About That Life.....Cause I'm About MY LIFE!
Carpe Diem Seize The Day Living to The Fullest.

It seems like a lot of peoples reality checks have bounced!
The next time somebody hands you a reality check, do yourself and the rest of us subjected to the BS and keep the Change.
Stop expecting to get somewhere by Chance
Get there by Change
and that's the reality of it.
Take a long look over your life. The good the bad, all of it.
We all have things we wish we could have made a different choice on, things if we were given a second chance would probably never have happen.
and that's fine because it means you learned the lesson from it. And that's the Blessing.
Stop fronting if you aren't where you wanna be FINE! Many of us aren't. Take the time to see the favor in the fact that your aren't where you used to be.
Now take that look again, where is it that you want to be? What are you doing to get there?
If you cant answer these questions, then ideally you need not be commenting on the circumstance of anyone else.
And further more what does discussing someone Else's situation do for you exactly?
Is it getting you any further than you already are?
And Unless you walked that persons road with them you have NO CLUE to anything.
Judge Not Lest Ye Be Judged!
The energy you take to pull someone else down can be redirected to something positive.
Because the vibes you put out in any form, will come back to you.
See yourself for who you are at this very moment, not who you were in the past, not who people think you are, and not the persona you put on to appease people who really don't care! But who you are today.
Your Alive your reading this so not only were you kissed with the breath of life but your in your right mind. Start with Thank You.....
Build from there.
You cant build ANYTHING OF SUBSTANCE on a foundation of lies you tell yourself to pass the time.
Embrace your truth whatever it may be. Because whatever it is you got through it, and that means theres a purpose to your life. So start living, and stop letting your reality checks bounce!
