Ok so I must warn you now this may be one of the most in-politically correct blog post I've written. So be warned it may ruffle some feathers.
So it began. A young lady on Twitter had tweeted. How can you vote for Obama as a Christian, when he condones something that God hates.
She also stated that she doesn't intend to vote in this up coming election.
As a Christian her statements did make me think.
Please by no means I am the least political girl there is. I'm not into politics and things of that nature. I won't lie I voted for Obama because he is black. (one drop rule sorry dontjudgeme)
And had fully intended to vote for him again, this go round but now I'm torn.
Because same sex marriage does go against my beliefs.
I'm not saying that this group doesn't deserve rights, because everyone deserves rights.
Romans 1 :26 -27 That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the woman turned against the Natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. And the men instead of having Normal sexual relations with woman, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved.
Now I don't think it's right to not vote at all. Every vote counts and you cant complain if you haven't placed your ballot.
Because outside of that, I am ok with most of what Obama is doing and has done. He came into the office with so much to repair that it has overshadowed the positive steps he was able to make.
You can't build on the rubble that was left behind, you have to clean it up first and start a new.
I have to be honest I've prayed on this topic in the past because I have people in my life who are Gay/Lesbian.
I pray for them a lot because many people in this world think its their place to judge and condemn them. They are constantly in the news because someone has taken it upon themselves to be judge and jury, and inflict bodily harm and even death on a person for simply walking down the street living a particular lifestyle.
Romans 2: 1-2-6You may think you can condemn such people, but you are just as bad, and you have no excuse! When you say they are wicked and should be punished, you are condemning yourself, for you who judge others do the very same things. And we know that God, in His justice will punish anyone who does such things
He will judge everyone according to what they have done.
Granted Homosexuality is considered a an acceptable practice by many in our world today even by some churches. but society doesn't set the standard for Gods law.
God can and will forgive sexual sins as he does other sins, just surrender yourself to God asking Him to show you the way out of the bondage of sin an into the freedom of His light and His love.
If we closely look at ourselves we may find that we are committing some of the same sins in more socially acceptable forms. For example a person who gossips may be very critical of others who gossip about him or her.
God holds back his judgement giving everyone a chance to turn from their sin.
We really have to check our mirrors folks and be examples. Self evaluation isn't easy but it's necessary. If your view is tainted what are you really seeing.
We must be transparent.
We all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God
So now what do you separate your religious views from your political stands.
Can you?
When will the judging stop. We are judged for our color, judged for class, judged by our sex, our looks , our weight. Judged for all these superficial things that most won't go with us when we leave this place.
Our bodies are dying daily! Your spirit should be growing what are you feeding it.
Now will I vote for Obama, most likely because there are so many other agendas that's he's bringing to the table that affect me and my children.
But thats my decision, and who you choose to vote for and why is yours.
