Free Your Mind & The Rest Will Follow

Have you ever had a conversation that gets you to thinking.......and questioning aspects of your life?

I was told the other day paraphrasing
"I don't look like the type that struggles to get up in the morning. It seems like you just get up and go......"
So I pondered

What has happened to my Get up and Go?

I used to be that girl.... up at 5am, workout, dog walked, quiet time with the Lord, lunch packed, makeup and hair, plus dinner in the slow cooker all before work! *POW*

But as of late I've been in a season where my spirit has been bruised (I refuse to say broken cause I'm not built to Break!!!)
However my scars were beginning to show more outwardly.
Running late, morning struggles, issues with my diet, trouble focusing, not wanting to even leave my house let alone my room, headaches, back aches, knee aches You Name It!!!!!! (insert Shirley Caesar squall here)

But as I embark on a fresh start; I have concluded that I need to take a moment to unplug so that I can refocus my energy, readjust my internal clock and over all relax relate release.
This week I will hone in on my wake up times, my workouts and purge my time lines and news feeds of foolery while limiting my social media intake. To allow myself to soak in the moments.

Walking through a door God has re- opened for me is nerve racking & I don't want to fail.

*GEM* Nerves and excitement come from the same place  Sooooo I Am Not Nervous I Am EXCITED!!!!

(both emotions suggest that some kind of uncertainty lies ahead. It’s just that excitement suggests that this potentially uncertain future is something to look forward to, whereas anxiety suggests it’s something to be feared)

Which have you been focused on? Time to redirect.

I know He has equipped me with all the tools I need.
They may have been buried by the rubble of failures past but I'm digging them out one brick at a time and rebuilding this here foundation.

*GEM* Healthy Self Heal Thy Self
Recognize where you are, but focus on where you can go; then adjust accordingly. And honor the process.

As this is being written I have woken up earlier than I have been able to all month, already done a 90 minute workout and I'm 1500 steps away from my daily step goal. All before Noon! Lets Get IT!!!!!

Relax Relate Release

Are you a Thermometer or a Thermostat?

Are you a Thermometer or a Thermostat? Don't become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking."Romans 12:2 TM Don't be a thermometer, be a thermostat. Thermometers just reflect the climate around them - thermostats set it. Actually, they lift it! Most of us are like thermometers reflecting the culture around us. We buy things others buy, say things others say, wear things others wear, and value things others value. Oh, there are slight variations, but most of the time we don't set the climate for the world we live in; we simply adjust to it. But not overcomers! No, they take life to the next level. They become thermostats and change the environment in which they're placed. For instance, you may know people who raise the Spiritual temperature of a group or determine the attitudes of others just by being present. They're pacesetters. They influence, rather than merely allowing others to influence them. Paul's challenge to ...

The Lost Tribe Of REAL Woman

I have touched on this topic in the past, and due to current events felt the need to revisit it. In the year 2011 I have come across many situations that have made me ask the question, "where are all the real women?" In a time downtrodden with the insurgence of reality television. The images of Real Women doing Real things are few and far in between. It seems as society has embraced the images of women fighting and gossiping and crabbing* each other as the norm. But did I miss the memo or something? I wasn't aware that this was the way to carry yourself as a woman, a mother, a sista, a friend...ect. Since when did it become ok to not be happy with yourself so you drag down every and anyone around you? Quoting Basketball Wives, Love & Hip Hop, and Nicki Minaj like its sacred grail. Catchy one liners for tee shirts is not what life should be made of. There was a time when a Woman could compliment another Woman not knowing her personally, but just out of respect...
