Misery LOVES Company

We all have heard the saying time and time again "Misery Loves Company"
But do we really get what it means?
Now most people aren't ever going to admit they are miserable. As I have said in the past many of us live behind masks. Because we don't want others to know that deep down we do suffer.

Now with that being said, I have had to learn the hard way that a lot of us don't know how to handle our dissatisfaction with life.
As I have also said before Happiness isn't a destination but a choice!

Negative energy spreads faster than Cancer!
Negative people will infect you with their bad aura so easily and you sometimes won't even realize what has come over you.
Have you ever sat and listened to a friend go on and on about their negative situation and by the end of the conversation Your whole attitude has changed. Consider yourself INFECTED!

We must learn to protect our spirits.
And in protecting our spirits sometimes it means cutting off some friends even some family members. Sometimes you have to love certain folks from a distance because they are toxic to your spirit.
And keep in mind a person with a negative spirit isn't going to jump for joy when you have something positive going on in your life.
So don't be surprised, when you call to share your good news and the only response you get is "ummmm" or when in person they give you the stomach virus face!
I've learned that I don't need anyone to co-sign or validate my happiness! And neither do you!
Embrace the new you regardless if others don't. Because as the negative people drop off like flies, new positive people will emerge in your life who are on the same path as you.

Negativity is an infectious disease, please stay vaccinated with all things positive!

Are you a Thermometer or a Thermostat?

Are you a Thermometer or a Thermostat? Don't become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking."Romans 12:2 TM Don't be a thermometer, be a thermostat. Thermometers just reflect the climate around them - thermostats set it. Actually, they lift it! Most of us are like thermometers reflecting the culture around us. We buy things others buy, say things others say, wear things others wear, and value things others value. Oh, there are slight variations, but most of the time we don't set the climate for the world we live in; we simply adjust to it. But not overcomers! No, they take life to the next level. They become thermostats and change the environment in which they're placed. For instance, you may know people who raise the Spiritual temperature of a group or determine the attitudes of others just by being present. They're pacesetters. They influence, rather than merely allowing others to influence them. Paul's challenge to ...

The Lost Tribe Of REAL Woman

I have touched on this topic in the past, and due to current events felt the need to revisit it. In the year 2011 I have come across many situations that have made me ask the question, "where are all the real women?" In a time downtrodden with the insurgence of reality television. The images of Real Women doing Real things are few and far in between. It seems as society has embraced the images of women fighting and gossiping and crabbing* each other as the norm. But did I miss the memo or something? I wasn't aware that this was the way to carry yourself as a woman, a mother, a sista, a friend...ect. Since when did it become ok to not be happy with yourself so you drag down every and anyone around you? Quoting Basketball Wives, Love & Hip Hop, and Nicki Minaj like its sacred grail. Catchy one liners for tee shirts is not what life should be made of. There was a time when a Woman could compliment another Woman not knowing her personally, but just out of respect...
